## Biography

One of the most important and influential figures in the history of jazz, **John Coltrane** embodies innovation and excellence.  
After beginning his career on alto saxophone alongside **Dizzy Gillespie** and rubbing shoulders with the leading figures of bebop, it was on the **tenor saxophone** that he forged his legend. A member of **Miles Davis’ first great quintet**, he took part in the recording of _Kind of Blue_.

Released in 1959, _Giant Steps_ pushed bebop harmony to its limits and marked the beginning of a series of revolutionary albums. Coltrane gradually developed a unique musical language, combining absolute freedom, modal jazz, and breathtaking chord progressions.
