## Biography

Hyperactive tenor saxophonist with an instantly recognisable beefy sound, Vincent Thekal presents a new album today that gets straight to the point, both in its title "Straight Ahead" and in its pure Hard Bop style celebrating the music of Art Blakey's legendary Jazz Messengers. It's everything you want in a jazz club on a Friday night: tunes with strong melodies, crisp and energetic solos, and a rhythm section that kicks you up the backside! A moment like those lived in 1950s New York, but in a true Brussels "stamjazz club".
