## Biography

It is quite simply one of the greatest feats in our club’s history! To welcome a world-renowned jazz legend of **Ari Hoenig’s** calibre to the intimate setting of Toots is nothing short of a musical miracle. This is an absolutely unique opportunity in Belgium to see, just a few metres from your table, one of the most innovative and fascinating drummers and composers of our time.

A true icon of the New York scene, Ari Hoenig has literally revolutionised the way his instrument is played. Far from merely keeping time at the back of the stage, he elevates the drum kit to the status of a profoundly melodic instrument. Juggling complex polyrhythms and a telepathic rapport with his fellow musicians, he creates music that is intense, cinematic and always full of surprises. His impressive CV is simply mind-boggling: since his early days, he has lent his genius to the biggest names in the world of jazz. Joshua Redman, Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mike Stern, Kenny Werner and Jean-Michel Pilc… they’ve all called upon his rhythmic magic (he has, in fact, appeared on over 120 albums as a sideman!).

To see an artist of this calibre – an internationally acclaimed musician and lecturer at New York’s most prestigious universities – perform in a club of our size is an incredible opportunity that no jazz lover should miss.

**Please note:** For such a rare event, our small venue will fill up very quickly. Don’t delay for a single second – book your tickets now!
