For this first edition of our series "Nostalgia In Grand-Place", which pays tribute to the legends of jazz, we start at full throttle with the man who changed history forever. Nothing was ever the same in the world of music after the dazzling passage of Charlie "Bird" Parker on this earth and the invention of Be-Bop. His genius paved the way for everything that followed and inspired millions of musicians across the globe. Today, Laurent Barbier dusts off his old alto saxophone for a flying visit to his native Belgium from Canada, where he holds a PhD and teaches at Laval University, to reunite with his friend and partner-in-crime Joachim Caffonnette and celebrate the music of Yardbird.
